    Sougia is certainly not a mass-tourism destination. However, we recommend to research and reserve your accommodation in advance as the village has limited accommadation.

  • The nearest airport is Chania International Airport (CHQ). You can fly here directly from countless destinations across Europe or take a connecting flight via Athens or Thessaloniki.

  • You can travel to and from Sougia via taxi, bus or car. We recommend arranging car hire so you can enjoy the scenic drive and explore the southern coast of Crete with ease, for those without access to a vehicle, arranging an airport transfer or pubic transport is also done with ease.     Bus
    There are up to three buses a day from Chania to Sougia, depending on which period of time you plan to go. You can see bus timetables here.

    Car Hire
    Alternatively, you can hire a car and enjoy the scenic drive to Sougia. There are an array of car hire companies both inside and outside of Chania International Airport.

  • The currency is Euro (€).

  • There is only one ATM in Sougia, most places accept card payment, however we recommend you arrive with cash incase you need it and the only local ATM is out of action.

    An ATM Euronet is located a short 5-minute (400m) walk from the festival site.

  • Sougia is a peaceful haven with plenty to offer. You can hike the Samaria Gorge, one of Crete’s most famous natural wonders, or enjoy its beautiful beach by the Libyan sea. The region is also home to ancient ruins, hikes and many wonderful restaurants. More information can be found here.

  • Taxi and car rental are the most efficient way to travel, otherwise a limited bus service is available to view here.

    Please note there is no petrol station. The nearest stations are quite far away (Agia Irini, Kandanos and Paleochora) so do not arrive in Sougia with an empty petrol tank if you have vehicle. It’s recommended you have it filled already in Chania.

  • The organizers do not bear any responsibility for stolen or lost goods, neither do they bear responsibility for any injury or medical issue suffered onsite. Basic first aid services can be provided, but for any urgencies please bear in mind that the nearest medical centre is situated at Kantanos, 27 km away from Sougia. If you have lost something, please contact us and we’ll come back to you if it has been found.

  • Security will be provided on site at the festival.

    For the safety of all our attendees and staff, searches will be conducted at the entrance to the event. Any prohibited items found will be confiscated, and individuals in possession may be removed from the festival. Please do not attempt to bring any of the following items: Weapons, Alcohol, illicit drugs, or legal highs including nitrous oxide.
